Fixing Computer Crash Issues

When personal computers hang up, or freeze, it can be quite annoying, and frustrating. It can cause you to lose work that you have been working on, and waste valuable time. Just happening once is no need to be alarmed.
It is probably just a glitch. If it keeps happening, however, there may be a problem that needs to be addressed. Many people wonder what makes computers slow and the answers can vary depending on the problems.

Computers these days come with programs that are built in to check for problems. A test that tells you what the temperature of the machine is handy, since the computer will shut down if it is not at the correct temperature. Air must flow freely all around the case of the computer. If your computer case is inside an enclosure, you may want to remove it, since this can cause the computer to get too hot, and shut off.

Nothing should be placed on the computer, as this disrupts the flow of air into the computer, which cools it down. If your computer has a build up of dust on the vents, then you will need to carefully clean it. By taking the cover off, you can see where the dust has accumulated. A can of air that is made for removing dust from computers is probably the best thing to use. You can also use a soft brush to dislodge any built up dust around the internal components of the machine. If the cooling fan inside is full of dust, this can make your computer get too hot, and act erratically.

Check all of the fans that are in your system, and make sure that they are dust free and running smoothly. If something is wrong with one of your cooling fans, then it may to have its heat sink replaced. You can do this yourself, or take it to a repair shop.

Other things can cause your personal computer to hang up. If you have adware, spyware or viruses, this can happen quite frequently. You need to have a good anti virus as well as a good anti adware and spyware remover. If you discover that these are working well, and there are no problems, then you may want to get a program that can clean your registry. These can be found free on the internet, and they fix registry errors that every one gets from time to time.

This can make your whole system run better. Another thing to check for if your personal computer hangs up is to see if your hard disk needs to be defragmented. Many times, people will forget this part of computer maintenance, and useless files can become prevalent all over the hard drive. This can cause your personal computer to run strangely, and hang up. Most computers have a built in defragmenter, or you can get one free off the internet. Make sure that if you download it off the internet, that it is adware and spyware free.
